Inside Out Theatre is a 501(3), not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, inspiring introspection and building character through the performing arts. The company accomplishes its mission by producing original and socially relevant works that help stimulate personal and social change. Celebrating its 13th year, the company has created and produced 16 original musicals that address subjects such as bullying, honesty in the face of temptation and greed, resisting peer pressure, substance abuse and suicide prevention, overcoming hate and prejudice, conflict resolution, the meaning of success, the importance of words and the power we all have to effect change in the world by standing up and speaking out for what is right. The company has also helped facilitate the writing of its students, who have created more than 17 original shows, including those with themes of gangs, obsessions, fears, body image and self- esteem, teen sexuality and pregnancy prevention. Through post-performance discussions the company helps provide audiences with a unique opportunity to bring these critical issues to the fore.
